ENTRY 1: Rules

Read this especially if you plan on posting a comment to this blog.

1. No pornographic images or explicit language (not even any swearing).
2. Please avoid naming specific websites.
3. Negative responses are ok as long as you explain your feeling (instead of saying "I hate your blog" say "I hate your blog because it's boring").
4. Positive responses don't require as much supporting evidence, but I'd far prefer more descriptive responses than "I like your blog".
5. I'll update these rules as needed.
6. I will preview EVERY response so please don't waste your or my time.

ENTRY 2: About me

I am a 40+ year old divorced guy with one daughter residing in New Jersey,USA. I attended Stanford University (or was that more like Country club?) in Palo Alto, CA where I was among the first class to graduate with a computer science degree in 1987. I managed to find a programming job (do you even remember FORTRAN and Pascal?) with a consulting firm near Stanford. By 1990 the winds of fortune blew me back home to New Jersey. My sister and I bought the top dry-cleaning business (Jeeves of Belgravia) in NYC. We ran the business successfully for several years at which point she got married and we sold the business. Still being single and irresponsible I engaged in day-trading stocks (buying stocks and then selling them often within minutes for fractions of a point profit) for a few years. Day-trading was competative then, maybe 1 in ten traders survived a year, yet it is a far bigger and more competative field now. As the mid 1990s rolled around I met my lovely wife. We married and had a beautiful daughter. Being a responsible adult now, I procured a job with one of the most prestigious automobile companies (Jaguar) which conveniently happens to be located nearby. In 2000 I got divorced and then later that year managed to get in a severe accident leaving me a quadriplegic. Amazingly I still have enough control of my triceps that I can poke at and use a computer. So here I am a few years later creating a porn review website named Top Porn Review (http://www.TopPorn.Biz) and telling you all about it in this blog.

ENTRY 3: Online porn sites and internet technology

The porn industry has blossomed into a multi billion dollar industry. Money like that is bound to have great effects. Indeed internet porn sites have proliferated the market. There are around ten thousand porn sites in existence today and new sites are being created every day. These sites have been the driving force behind the development of internet technology. Now internet users with a broadband connection can expect to achieve download speeds in excess of one megabyte per second. Streaming video has even become a reality. Not only has the proliferation of porn sites pushed internet technology, it has also created a competitive marketplace resulting in a boon for consumers. Porn sites are becoming more professional and are providing a greater volume of higher quality porn to their customers than ever before. There has also been a movement toward porn site affiliations. Either a porn site can produce original content for many sites or many individual sites can band together to offer a greater value to consumers. In many cases the customer of one porn site will get access to all the porn sites affiliated with the porn site they are a member of. Top Porn Review (http://www.TopPorn.Biz)provides a top ten list of the best porn sites on the internet. In order to be considered a top porn site each site must have a large volume of content, update their site with new content regularly, and deliver only the highest quality content. Please remember that porn sites are exclusively for adults age 18 or older.

ENTRY 4: The birth of Top Porn Review

I've been a member of an adult community internet site named Eroticy for several years. Eroticy actually has a great deal to offer:

1. Reasonable membership fee.
2. User profiles for meeting others.
3. Chat rooms.
4. Live sex cams- free hour-long cam shows provided by amateur cam girl sites.
5. Sex videos- a great library of sex videos.
6. Eroticy TV- a huge number of streaming "channels" dedicated to all kinds of porn niches.
7. Voyeur cams- peak in on the amateur cam girls for some voyeuristic fun.
8. Adult Galleries- a huge selection of xxx photo shoots.
9. Forum- for discussing all kinds of sexual topics.
10. Much more- parties and events board, porn star interviews, dirty jokes, polls, sex education, blogs...

Did I mention that I was really quite happy with Eroticy yet?

But we humans are inquisitive creatures so I had to wonder what internet porn sites were offered nowadays. I figured I should be able to learn about the best internet porn sites in a jiffy. I typed in something like "top porn review" to Google and of course pages of porn review sites popped up. Clicking on the first review site left me bewildered. Thousands of porn sites were reviewed on a scale from 1 to 100. Sure, you could search them every which way. By category, keyword, overall, etc. But no matter what I clicked on I'd get a huge list of sites. So I buckled my seat belt, hunkered down, and decided to try to make some sense of all these porn site listings.

Well, let's see here, we have twenty sites at the top of the list with ratings from 91.1 to 91.3. Hmmm... I click on the top ranked site and up comes a full page review of small text. Ughhh... I read through the entire review and learn about how the reviewer really loved this particular site because it had such hot chicks, such and such site navigation, these affiliated sites, quality of video and pics, and # videos, # pictures where # is some random enormous integer. I can tell you they had a lot more information, but my eyes were too bleary to catch any more. Time to check out the number 2 ranked site (also with a 91.3 rating). Ughhh... Another full page review with itty-bitty print.

Stop already. I can't take any more. I'm supposed to be having fun while finding the best, hottest, new porn sites on the web. Of course there are all kinds of banners and ads, but I suppose that's the only way a review site can support itself. They gotta have ads, right?

What if someone could make a user-friendly porn review site? One that only listed the absolutely best, highest quality porn sites. One that only had brief reviews to confirm that this is what the surfer wanted. Could the site have no ads?

Read on and see how I took on the project of creating just such a site. My project was to create Top Porn Review, a truly user-friendly porn review site

ENTRY 5: CamGirlz Network News Flash

Top Porn Review discussion will just have to wait because I have a breaking news announcement.

CamGirlz Network (http://www.CamGirlz.Biz) has just officially gone live!

No doubt you're wondering what exactly CamGirlz Network could be. I'm glad you're wondering because I'll explain everything now.

With the advent of the internet and digital photography and videography a great number of women have created their own personal amateur pornographic web sites. I will call these women Cam Girls (although there are a vast number of cam girls who perform private shows without having their own website). I'd estimate that there are probably about 1000 Cam Girls (with websites) and in excess of 10,000 cam girls who perform shows. Cam Girls have several sources of revenue. They charge a membership fee to join their site and often offer private shows and/or merchandise.

This is all great but the problem is how does the Cam Girl advertise her site? Getting reviewed by an internet porn review site such as Top Porn Review sounds like the ideal solution but it has some major faults. For one thing, porn review sites rarely review private Cam Girl sites because they focus their efforts on the more popular professional porn sites where they are more likely to make sales and earn commissions (referral fees). In those cases where a porn review site does review a Cam Girl site you can bet the review site has thousands of reviews making it fairly useless. Cam Girls often get publicity by appearing on other sites or perform free cam shows open to the public.

CamGirlz Network is the solution that will finally bring organization to all the Cam Girl sites.

CamGirlz Network site layout-
Home page: Lists each cam girl site along with a brief description. Clicks link to each cam girl's link page.
Thumbnail gallery: Has thumbnail pics for each cam girl site. Clicks link to each cam girl's link page.
Cam girl link page: Each cam girl has their own page on the site with a large picture and a detailed description of their site. Clicks link to the cam girl's site.

To ensure that all appropriate Cam Girl sites are listed, all listings are absolutely free (no fee to be listed and no referral fees ever). Also, each Cam Girl is responsible for creating their listing info so they can guarantee everything is completely accurate. Sites MUST be amateur cam girl sites and should have a good layout, easy navigation, quality content, updated material.

So, CamGirlz Network will be the one site that provides users a complete directory listing all the quality amateur Cam Girl sites on the internet. CamGirlz Network is the only guide available to Cam Girl websites at this time. Please visit CamGirlz Network and meet your Cam Girl now!!

ENTRY 6: Creating my website

I knew I wanted to create a porn website named Top Porn Review, but where to start?

1. Choose a web hosting provider.
In order to run a web site I needed to locate an appropriate web hosting provider. As usual I typed a couple of keywords such as "web hosting" into Google and got plenty of options. The first question is whether to use a free web hosting service. Free web hosting services are "free" because they will post advertising on your page automatically. If you are doing a personal site this might be fine, but when creating a professional site one should purchase web hosting. One can easily find a great web host for around $5 per month that will of course display no ads. A little tip is to check which services offer free startup and a free domain name registration.

2. Choose a domain name.
The domain name is the web address that people will type in to view your website. Choosing a domain name can be a very exhausting process. It would be best to have your domain name be:
A. Short- Shorter names are easier to remember and type.
B. Descriptive- Use something that describes your site so people can mentally connect the domain name to your site.
C. Catchy- Try to find something interesting so it'll be easy to remember.
D. End in .com- .com is the must popular extension so use it whenever possible.
E. Aavailable- Now for the hard part. You have to find a domain name that is available. Unfortunately, about every domain name you can think of has been snatched up already so be prepared to get innovative.
Luckily, I was able to decide on TopPorn.Biz fairly quickly. TopPorn was perfect so I compromised on the extension being .Biz instead of .Com.

3. Designing the site.
There are plenty of site designing tools available, but I think it's best to understand the basics when possible. The basics of web page designing happens to be HTML which stands for HyperText Markup Language. As usual, I went to Google and searched on keywords like "html tutorial". There are plenty of free html tutorials available on the internet and I'd recommend reading through one until you're confident that you understand how things work. I created Top Porn Review from the ground up using a text editor; however, you might prefer to use a web page creator for assistance.

ENTRY 7: What EVERY Porn Review Site NEEDS!

EVERY website, be it a porn review site or not, needs content. The content is the value being provided to website visitors. For Top Porn Review the primary focus is of course porn site reviews. Just as there were trade-offs when choosing a domain name, I found I had to make certain sacrifices regarding my porn site reviews. It's not difficult to quickly build up a large number of porn site reviews as there are plenty of people happy to look over porn sites at no charge. Go figure. It is with equal ease that one can demand all the reviews be very long. There's a lot to be said for a porn site to provide a lot of very long reviews. As I'll be discussing more thoroughly in an upcoming blog entry, the greater the number of porn-related words on your site, the more likely your site will come up on search engines.

But what about Top Porn Review? My mission is to provide a porn review site that makes it very easy for visitors to find the porn site that suits them as quickly as possible. I fealt that sticking to this goal was more important than the advantages inherent in creating many, long reviews. Top Porn Review contains only one page of porn site reviews. Only the TOP porn site is listed for every category. Also, the reviews of each porn site are kept as brief as possible. In this way, I believe visitors can quickly find the website that Top Porn Review recommends based on their tastes. The visitor can then simply click on the porn site link to confirm that the particular site is right for them.

ENTRY 8: How to SEO your site

What does SEO stand for anyways? SEO stands for Search Engine Optimized. If you are creating a small site how search engines see your sight can be critical. If you're a big business like Jaguar or WallMart this might not be so important.

There are many factors that influence how search engines index websites. Although each search engine may have there own peculiarities I will outline some general guidelines that should be useful.

1. Domain name- I mentioned earlier in this blog that you should try to choose a meaningful domain name. The text of your domain name will be considered by search engines.

2. Use Meta Taga- Create an accurate title, description, and keywords that focus on words that you want to direct people to your site.

3. Headers and text size- Using headers such as H1 and larger text sizes will give text more weight.

4. Link text- The text used for any hyperlink is important.

5. Image titles- Search engines can't see images so always give text titles when displaying images.

DO NOT-

1. Word stuff. Back in the old days webbmasters used tactics such as word repetition to increase the DENSITY of certain words. For example, in Top Porn Review I might want to write:

PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN
or
PORN REVIEWS PORN SITES PORN LINKS PORN GUIDES PORN DIRECTORY

Nowadays this will more likely than not get your site backlisted.

2. Overuse images. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well this is not true in the eyes of search engines. Search engines only 'see' text.
